rear strut bar problem

Hey, did anyone ever have trouble installing a rear upper strut bar? I have gone through two different bars already that just wont fit right. I tried a Vibrant bar and a #1 bar. I never had this trouble installing the front one years ago which is a dc sports. The rear is such a pain in the ass. I ripped up all my trunk interior , and spent a couple hours taking things apart. Both ends never line up and the mounts are pieces of ****. They don't fit over the strut threads all the way so when you screw them down it just bends to the shape. I'm starting to think my car is not even....

If the mounts are not fitting over the threads try drilling the holes out with the next size bit. That may give you the extra play you need for it to drop down evenly. You may only need to drill just one hole on each bracket.

i can see how the bracket won't sit ontop of the shock area.....its a pretty difficult shape.

i think mine was like that also. but i spent 15 bux on a megan rear brace. trust me....its not worth that much time/effort/money.

it was not a pita, however it was a tight squeeze.

good luck with getting a bar that fits.

i have megan front and rear both needed modding.

the problem is most comapanys say that the 4th and 5th gens are interchangable. well they artn the fron you need to cut a good amount out of the passanger side mount and the rear both need to be modded. not to bad i spent about 1 hour modding the fornt and rear.

are they full rings that go on the threads or a C shape. Cause that is the major problem with these bars

I've got a brand new polished DC rear bar for sale... I was lucky enough to figure out that this is one that doesn't work with 4WS...

pm me if interested...
