I'm lowered and need to change my oil. I'm using jack stands and a 2 ton jack. My theory is to jack up rear and use jack stands and then jack up the side which should give me enough room. PITA but I love being lowered. My question is, Where do I place the jack stands to support the rear? Please be descriptive as I'm not 100% familiar with all the suspension parts near the rear wheels

True, but if I use 4 jack stands then the car would be level enough for the oil to drain. Basically, I can't get underneath the car from the front at all. So, I'm trying to get the rear up in the air to get the jack on either side and then get the other 2 stands on the sides. I know where the supports are on the sides, but i don't know where to put the stands in the rear

I usually use the stock jack on one of the sides to pop up the front of the car a couple of inches and then you can fit a hydraulic under the front tow hook (little hook in the middle of the car). THen just put two stands on the front side supports, don't need to jack it up with four.
that's an even better idea. i just need to use my girls jack. mine was "misplaced" when I had everything removed for my stereo install.

how do you not 'trust' the wooden boards? its just to get your car high enough to get the main jack under the front.
good luck with ramps. i havent found any that i can roll up on and im only on sportlines. i used to use the honda jack to lift up the side first but its easier to just roll up on wood real quick. guess it just depends on your situation

I took a peice of plywood cut it into 3 peices staggered them like steps nailed them together boom small ramp when I drive onto it just enough room to get my jack under the front.

maybe its just my bad luck but i found that ramps and a front wheel drive car dont work that well.....Now i use the honda jack on the side and the main one in the front

what happened that you dont trust them? they're much much safer than jacks or jackstands.
everytime i put my car on ramps i pull up the ebrake, leave the tranny in gear, and i wedge 2 pieces of wood behind both rear wheels. No way in hell for the car to roll back. heck, it won't even roll back without the ebrake on or the tranny in gear.

I meant to tell you guys that I did just that and it worked like a charm..Before, I thought he meant to use boards as a ghetto style ramp with cinder blocks or something. stupid me..but I used 3 3/4inch particle boards and it work perfectly.thanks guys
