Rear Defrost has never worked

Help me!!! What can I do to check to see why the rear defrost has never worked? I hit the button, the light goes amber, and it just doesnt defrost.. I got tinted windows but it didnt work before I got them tinted either. Help MEEEEH

If the switch lights up then the grid on the window is probably damaged. Just look at it and see if there are any breaks in it. If there are they sell kits of special paint to repair it. Down side is you will have to remove the tinting to fix it if that is it. You might also check to see if the wiring is bad anywhere.

check the relay and your wiring.. i'm sure there's a flowchart for this in the helms. you can tell right away if the relay is bad by turning off your radio and listening for the click when you press the defrost button. it will be faint but you should be able to hear it. if you don't hear anything then you know something is up with the wiring, either a bad relay or a short somewhere. you could also check the fuse for the rear defrost as well but i'm sure you already thought of that.

Jape.... mine looks new too. Doesn't work! I heard that paint they make to redo it will just burn up after a period of time!
