Rear Center Speaker

Ive got the mounting bracket back there, but no speaker. Im also not sure if I have the amp there or not.

I found someone willing to sell my just the amp, what should I offer? What is it worth? Does anyone have a picture or can anyone tell me what the output of the amp is? There are two wires at the mounting bracket looks like a speaker was there before.

Any info on this would be awesome! Im trying to decide what to use that space for. The desirable speakers to put in there are fairly rare or dont fit without modding.

thanks

i have the rear center speaker but never hooked it up.
i can't imagine it would sound that great. the amp is tiny.
if you want bass that 6x9 is not going to do much.

Post a picture.

The stock unit has a 6x9 2ohm subwoofer. It is hard to find on its own without buying the unit altogether from someone. The amp is the small silver box that mounts inside the bottom of the bracket. I am unsure the power rating on the amp.

eBay Motors: 92 - 96 bb1 bb4 JDM Prelude center subwoofer speaker (item 150337154105 end time May-05-09 11:52:23 PDT)

thats the ebay listing. I talked to the guy and hes willing to part out the amp for me, but im not sure yet if i have it or not. In that picture, isthat little box on the bottom w the green female plug the amp? If it is, I think I have it already. Is it wired for power in the car already?

If you have that silver box with the green female plug then you already have the amp.

I don't even have mine hooked up. How is it possibly to have 5 speakers hooked up to a 4 ohm cd player? I figured I'd either throw my deck into protect, or have it shutoff because it's not meant for 5 speakers. I don't have the stock 6x9, it's one of my kenwoods since the rears are only 6 1/2 >:O

yeah im not sure what to do. although, if I have that amp, I could hook it to the sub out on my deck and stick a 6x9 on it or get a flange for a 6" and get a nice 6" comp sub maybe...

yeah i dont have the amp, i just checked. At this point, should I even try to get it off the guy for around $50 or should I just find an aftermarket one? Stock one probably sucks...

sick! two questions:

what kind of speaker is in that?

Are you using the stock amp or aftermarket?

do you have the stock deck?

does that stock rear amp have a crossover to remove treble?
If not, that would sound so messed up.
I mean stereo is Left and Right. you are going to have to send that center speaker either a left or right signal. so if your song has a fade from left to right, it will not sound good because one of the channels will be stuck in the center. If you can mod that for a 6" sub that would sound pretty nice if u don't like rap. But, the rear seat supports aren't very rigid.

pretty sure thats what i want to do, but im not sure if the trunk liner trim would fit if i did this because i think the mounting depth on the 6" subs ive seen is way too deep. Not sure yet have to measure

o yeah you won't be able to put the plastic cover thing over the back of the back seat.
i think it would be more practical to scrap the rear center speaker and build a nice sealed sub box for a 6, 8, or 10" sub

gotjnco, Your car is a VTEC Model correct?

Because I was pretty sure that only the VTEC Model was wired for the Amp's and 6x9 Sub Woofer.

And dakyone, you're saying you have the VTEC Sub Woofer Cover and Frame? But no Speaker or Amp? And I'm assuming you don't have a VTEC Model. Are you sure?

Nevermind, Im an idiot, I found the amp. I tried hooking a speaker to it to see if it was hooked up but not luck. I need to get it going. I do want to make a nice sub and box but for right now if all i need to do is plug in a speaker id be way happy.

another thing im trying to do is hook up the tweeters from my old prelude. I pulled the covers off and found the wires (someone removed the speakers I guess so thats why i got the ones out of my last car) but there arent ends on the wires. They are loops connected with a screw on crimp. according the wire diagram these are the right color wires, but im totally confused as to why they are looped the way they are.

94BB4H23: would you sell just the speaker and maybe those center speakers separately?

there is no need to get a different CD deck in order to use the stock sub-am in the back. At least according to the wiring diagram, the amp takes input from both the left and right rear channels and sums the signal after filtering the high frequencies. It will work with whatever aftermarket deck you put in. I am not sure if mine is functional for whatever reason. I need to try a speaker that is the right resistance.
