Hi ya,

There is a noise like a motor kicking in on the rear axle after i start the car and move forward. It doesn't do it all the time but MOST of the time.

It's probably something to do with the Traction control or 4WS but can anyone confirm?

I don't know 4ws, but is the noise speed related? Does it make more noise as you speed up? That's usually wheel bearings...

i dont think preludes have axles in the rear. or any fwd cars.

Sorry, I'm being general when I say rear "axle" but this noise isn't wheel brg which is usually a drone around 40-60 mph, it is a definate motor sound at around 2mph which lasts for about 2 secs. I don't know much about 4 wheel steer systems or traction control but it's my suspicion that its from one of the two.
