I was reading my codes for my abs light today and i came up with 3 flashes a pause then one more flash. What codes are that, some give me a hand!
Hope it is nothing big.
Thanks for the response. But is that for 5 gens or is that for all generations. I have a 93 si. Also can someone tell what code is "3 quick flashes pause then 1 quick flash".
Thanks a bunch. I dont mean to be rude or pushy it is just that i am going to the dealer tommorow and i want to get an idea what could be wrong before i go in. But thanks again.
Sorry if i responded late but i just read ur post and saw that u got a flash of 3...1...thats a code 31. According to my manual a 31 code = A/T Fi signal B. Now thats the code but its got me confused a lil. The "A/T" i would think is abbreviated for Automatic Transmission...The "Fi"i would guess as Fuel Injection, and the signal b im not sure of. They have a code 30 where its the same its just signal A and then they have urs which is code 31 being signal B. If you'd like I work at autozone and i go in tomorrow and i'll see if i can pull something up on the computer over there to maybe help u out, regardless goodluck with your car- Sean
Thanks for the reply but it is my abs light that is flashing not my check engine light. Is there seperate codes for abs light and check engine light. And i have a manual transmission. But i would be greatful if you can pull some info from your job.
Well I checked my book and from what you are telling us the main code is 3 with a subcode of 1. Book indicates problematic component/system: Pulser(s) Front right wheel affected. Other possible component Wheel sensor installation (what that means I dont know). To check pulser find wheel sensor of affected tire and the gear pulser (looks like a gear around drive shaft near knuckle hub) clearence should be 0.4mm-1.0mm between gear and sensor, if gap between gear and sensor is greater than 1.0mm at ant point around replace knuckle (because it is distorted). Also check for chipped or damaged teeth and replace if necessary.
Hope this helps
I am getting an intermitent ABS light as well. How do you check the code. I know you have to jump the blue connector for the CEL but what do you have to do to pull the ABS code?
hey guys dont forget the 3 flashes then a pause then 1 flash... couldn't that be a code 3 and a code 1? RedRacer u gotta watch if the 3 first "flashes" are longer than the 1 flash afterwards. That ECU uses long flashes for the "ten" digit spot... like if u are getting 3 long flashes then 1 short flash... that's code 31... but 3 short and 1 short is two separate codes.

The three flashes are the same then a short pause and quick last flash. All the flashes are the same length. So does the quick flash mean that the last pause is a seperate code or does it go with the 3 flashes before.
It sort of goes BLINK, BLINK, BLINK, pause Blink. So if it is all short blinks then it might be two sperate codes. You might be right BLAKDTH77!!
what i found is that the flashes are pretty much the same length, only that there is a pause in between. i had four flashes a pause and then a single flash i think which was front wheel stuck. turns out the sensor ring was missing.
i'd check the sensor and the ring for any stripping or something...maybe

yeah redracer I think you got a code 3 and a code 1 if they're all the same short length flashes. A code 3 is your MAP sensor (assuming you have a '92 to '95 'lude), and a code 1 is your O2 sensor.
My O2 sensor is finally hosed at 135K miles, it's getting replaced later this evening. Best price I found around was NOPI. just under 75$ including shipping AND they have the wiring harness attached on the ECU. If I were you I'd replace the O2 sensor, then clear the codes, and see if the MAP sensor circuit shows faulty again. If you have high miles (100K or above) it's probably just your O2 sensor going bad and MAP sensors are expensive I think so I'd try the O2 sensor first.
