Rasing the redline?

Right, another question to help me with my DOHC F22B Prelly...

I reckon I could get a better 0-60 time by upping the redline slightly

my powerband starts @ 5000rpm (still makes nice noises!) and the limiter kicks in at 7000, however, shifting from first to second drops the engine back to ~4500rpm where there is an annoying flatspot before the engine wakes up again.

Would it be possible to slightly raise the limiter so it cuts in at 7500rpm instead (or so) so when i shift into second Im straight into the powerband?

2nd > 3rd and 3rd > 4th all shift into the powerband.

Neil

hmmm. doesnt sound too feasable, I'm sure Honda put the Rev limiter at 7000 for a reason raising it probably wouldnt create any more power, it would wear on the engine parts a bit more though... but I guess you just want the revs to be higher after you shift. I dont know what to tell you there...maybe try to shift alittle faster????

In order to safely raise the redline, you will have to build up the internals. Otherwise, it's too much for the engine.

well .. yea theres always messin up your engine but ..

if you want to raise your redline and run the risk .. nobody is stopping you ... it probably CAN be done by modifying the ecu.
