Ran at track, now car feels laggy

i ran 8 times at the track and two times i mis-shifted and instead of 4th it went into 2nd. It felt fine after the first time, but after the second time it just seemed laggy, and laggy all the way home, until i stopped, then it seemed a little more powerful, but not what it was before. I am gonna let it sit for a little while and cool completely off then drive it. any ideas?

you shifted at redline? how quickly did you realize your mistake after shifting?

and lastly... you messed up on the 3 - 4 shift? how?

for a little while, shifting 3-4 at higher rpms feels like it doesnt want to go into 4th. i guess it didnt want to go in and it just hit in second after bounching off fourth. it happened so fast, the most it slowed me down was maybe 1/2 a second for the whole thing. only a fraction of a second in 2nd gear. enough to realize "oh sh!t!!" and then shoved it into 4th.

People get antsy on the 3 - 4 shift and pull the lever towards themselves while pulling it down and do it. I know, I did it a few timse myself

You might have skipped a tooth on the timing belt. Might want to verify everything is at TDC.

Top dead center. Verify that when the cam gears are at TDC so is the crank (via the flywheel).

Well, the most damage you could do is bend all the valves and possibly the piston heads... Go for it!
