Alright, here is the next step...hooking up the amp to an aftermarket headunit. My sony flip down broke (data ribbon) awhile ago and I don't want to use the stock headunit (tape player) I have an older Kenwood that I used to use and I recall the sub never worked with either aftermarket headunit I had installed, but anyway, reading the wire diagram, the remote wire from the amp is the YEL/WHT. It is then tied into the power antenna which I had the antenna from the aftermarket harness hooked up to. The headunit sends a signal when the radio is on to extend the mast, but in theory, you change it to CD for example, the antenna goes down so no amp because the signal stops from the headunit. Should I tie in the remote wire (p. cont) into the YEL/WHT from the harness? I know the antenna mast would stay up all the time then, but would it work? Or should I make it simple and do a little work to run a new remote wire? Since the amp is there, I want to use it instead of it being wasted. Has anyone got this to work? I found a great thread on here about the stock amp, but I think I missed how they did it.
