Radio Install.

I just bought a 93 prelude with no radio, once I got the radio installed at best buy(I got a 50watt Awia)
, I found out all the speakers were blown. I'm short on cash and want to install the speakers myself, what do I need to do? What size speakers do I need to buy? How many speakers are in a prelude? How to I open and install...etc, etc. Any suggestiosn/info you be great.
Thanks

You have two 6.5" in the door, and two 6.5" on the rear deck. There is very minimal clearance in both locations. I know for a fact that the Polk Audio EX series 6.5" coaxials will fit with no problems in both places. The rears come out very easy. each is held in place with only 3 10mm nuts, and wiring clip. The doors are a little more difficult, but not bad. You will need to remove the door panel for these. I can't remember off hand where all the screws are at for the door. Just look around. There is one in the door handle inside, there a couple on the very bottom of the door panel, pull the little sail panel off, the use a panle pulling tool, ro some gentle force to unsnap the door panel from the door. disconnect the wiring harness from the panel, and you will see the speaker. install in reverse order. pretty simple just take your time.

When I installed my front ones. They would not fit in this plastic basket looking peice so I cut off the back of it and used the mounting part. This probably doesn't make much sence until you take out the old speaker.

I had to do the same thing brendon2k did. When putting in my Infinity Kappas, the speaker magnet was too deep to fit the "basket" in the doors. So, you can just cut off the "pit" of the basket and you the mounting base. On the rear, I had to shave inside the circle of the basket because the speaker wouldn't seat completely flat, it jutted up because it was too "wide". HTH
