After my h23 to H22A swap, they left all the radiator components and hoses the same afaik... I wound up having to change them just a month or so ago since my oem radiator cracked and they were getting old.

sorry to hijack the thread but i rather ask here then start another similar topic.

i just changed my radiator...now can i just get a quick aproval that the coolent and radiator are doing their job correct?

when engine is warm and running...my upper hose is hot..and the bottom hose that goes back to the engine is cold...so that means the hot coolant from the engine is flowing the right direction through the radiator and through the lower hose nice and cold back to the engine?

my fans dont seem to come on at all...does that mean my engine is running cooler than normal?however, they do come on when i put my a/c on verifying that they are working.

just wanted to verify all of this before i truly drove that car. thanks alot

yea i did..i open the bleeder screw until a constant flow of coolant came out.. then closed it...but i mean the system is supposed to work like that right??with upper hose hot and lower hose cold. both a/c and heater work good!

The direction of fluid is correct, it is dictated by waterpump.
The new radiators have better flow rate, the old ones usually have limescale buildup in channels and can jam them. The radiator is then cooling less efficiently.
This is caused if you put water from home, it's recommended that you put only distiled water and mix it with right proportion of antifreeze, which also prevents corosion of water channels throughout the block of motor.

The hose size (lower/upper) is the same on H22 and H23.

I thought that the lower was the same, but if you have a molded upper hose, the angles will be slightly different. At least it was for me when I did my swap...

I just trimmed a little bit on the upper hose to correct the angle.
