Hi ...... my A/C is not working so i went to a A/C shop. They told me that my radiators main fan isn't working and i need to replace the motor. They were charging me too much so i boought the motor and just replaced it myself with the help of y friend. But the fan is still not working. What else do i need to check for the fan???? maybe the fuse box??? But i dont know how to tell if the cooling fan fuse thing is good or not. If u look at the fuse box under ur hood left top there is a fuse box but its fuses are pretty wierd. How do u tell if its good or not?? pleez help!!!
The fuse is weird? Are you talking about the relays? There are both fuses and relays for both the cooling fan and radiator fan.....I'm not sure how you test the relay, maybe with a voltmeter? But I think you can get them for cheap at Autozone, and they may be able to test them for you as well.

Eh? the fuses are wierd? aren't they pretty clearly labelled on the box cover?
Maybe the place lied to you to get some more $$$ out of it...damn shady places will do that...they'll tell you its the fan problem, try to fix it then go oh it was something else and charge you more...maybe take it somewhere else to get a second opinion?
make sure the harness is hooked up correctly and that the ground that goes to the chassis (next to the headligth i think it is) is bolted in correctly... my GF civic had a AC problem adn the ground was not hooked up...
Take two wires and remove your fan. hook them from your battery to the two connectors on the fan. It should spin. If not. Reverse the polarity. If it still doesn't spin. The fan is dead. (NOTE: MAKE SURE NOT TO TOUCH THE WIRES TOGETHER).
If it works. Check the fuse.
But as far as the AC goes. There is a blower inside the car. When you turn on your AC, does it blow or does it not make any sound at all?
If you get no sound. It's just the A/C Blower. The fan is a condensor also. Make sure both works.
yeah yeah yeah, so you can tell i'm having problems with my AC too, since i'm digging up these old threads. I sent to get my evacuated and charged today, all went well but the fans dont come on. By fans i mean the ones under the hood, i'm still blowing air, its just not cold. The guy said check the fuse, but looking at the fuse top there isn't one labeled AC. what else could i check?

Here are the troubleshooting symtom descriptions:
1. Radiator fan does not come on at all.
2. Condenser fan does not run at all.
3. Both fans (radiator and condenser) do not run for engine cooling, but they both run with the A/C on.
4. Both fans do not run at all.
5. Compressor clutch does not engage.
6. A/C system does not come on (compressor and both fans).
Tell me which one applies and I can tell you the troubleshooting steps.
hold up, can you host a pictures? i just went out looking in the car, and i have a bunch of wires cut, prolly from the engine swap still. I have no idea where they go. but i'd i'm thinking this is the problem because one goes directly to the condensor

Well that could definatly be your problem. I don't have a digicam and I can't host pics. If you have some you can e-mail them to me at jwzimm@u.washington.edu and I will take a look.
Who did your swap? Why would they just clip wires?!
you got mail, thanks. think i should start a new thread? since we kinda know what my problem is?
