radiator-engine problems
Hello everyone, I have a 92 honda prelude. Just the other day, my car wouldn't start up so I was checking for any faults that could occur. And I happened to open the radiator cap and found that the cap was broken. The bottom of the cap was floating on top of the coolant. While I was trying to take it out, it slipped into the little gap inside. I drove it to the store to get myself a new cap and my car have been really hot. Just letting it warm up, i can see heat vapor coming out from the hood. The radiator is just extremely hot...even the hose from the radiator to the engine.
So I thought that the problem might be that the little rubber from the cap perhaps flowed and blocked the coolant from getting into the engine. I checked the (thermostat, ...the part that connects the hose to the engine) hope that the rubber may be there. I opened it and found nothing to be blocking the way. I don't know if that's where the thermostat is suppose to be, but it was just an open connection. So my question is, is it possible that the rubber could have gone into the engine somehow? is there any way to check or get it out without taking the engine apart? Please, any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.
