Its just for looks. A radiator cap is just to keep all the radiator fluid from spraying everywhere

not quite if you look at a stock radiator cap, it'll have a number it being the pressure, Spoon Radiator Caps have a pressure of 1.35 meaning it will keep the coolant flowing faster keeping the engine cooler than if it were stock, thus in theory producing more horsepower, b/c of the lower engine temp.

something like that.... Correct away.

It depends on the cap. A high pressure radiator cap increases the boiling point of your liquid coolant. Lets say, with a stock cap your coolant might boil at 100 C, it might boil at 110 C with a high pressure cap. The higher boiling point increases the cooling capicity of the coolant, thereby alowing the car to run cooler. Look at the stock cap to see if it has a pressure rating on it (might be in PSI or BAR). I know the caps we use on our Formula SAE race cars are 20 PSI. . .I'm not sure how that compares to stock (remember thats a race application though). I also am not sure if there is a danger with using a cap with TOO HIGH a pressure rating. I know www.inlinefour.com sells some "high pressure" rad caps.
