questions?

Might sound dumb, so spare me please!

I have a 1996 Prelude S, and I want to get a H22a and tranny soon, but until then I need new brake pads and rotors, etc, and was wondering, if I bought vtec rotors calipers and pads would that be a bad idea if I dont have the engine yet? what would be the drawbacks, if any (if its possible to do)?

Also, how much should I be paying for a full H22a + Transmission, under 80k?

I know I can look it up, but since Im asking questions anyways, whats the HP difference between the stock S engine (I think F22?) and the VTEC?

Thanks, and again if I sound stupid, then laugh behind your screen, then help me out haha... Thanks again

The S only has 135hp and is a single overhead cam engine while the VTEC has a dual overhead cam with 190hp. Regarding the brake stuff for the VTEC, it wouldn't hurt to get that without the H22A1 but there really wouldn't be any point if you're not going that fast. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think the biggest difference with the brakes is that the VTEC rotors are about an inch wider in diameter and the calipers and pads are a little bigger as well.

1. nothing will be wrong if you buy the vtec version
2. since you didn't search, we'll just say $2000
3. already answered

^did you search?

Probably not.

1. any rotors work (even from autozone) if anyone tells you different, then they're lying
2. brake pads vary but from the sound of it, just get some ceremic pads from autozone.
