I posted a thread because i've been having problems with my car. I get absolutly no acceleration at 2500 rpms and can't go past 3000 rpms. The thread is here:
Something wrong with my car, i think I narrowed it down to fuel
Anyway, I took off the valve cover and turned cylinder 1 to TDC based on the cam gears, and they both lined up perfectly. However when I looked at the crank, it was off maybe 1 - 2 teeth, and therefore the 2 other pullies on the balancer belt were also off. Everything seemed fine under there except for this:
The spring (illustration 12) that goes to that bracket that goes over the balancer belt adjuster fell off and was all crushed, and the bolt that holds the bracket (illustration 13) was loose. Very loose actually. But what is the purpose of this thing?
If the adjusting nut is tightened, then I don't see how anything could have gotten loose to skip a tooth or two.
I did this all about a year and a half ago when I installed the H22a, but everything looks tight and the belts look good. Any idea on how this could have happened? Could it be the auto-tensioner?
Thanks a bunch.
