Question on Stock Alarm

Ok on a stock 92 si alarm. When the alarm goes off does it disable the starter totally? My car did that when my chip fell out of my key pad. Is there any other ways to turn it off?

I'm sorry;

what happened? the car died or wouldn't start

or

the alarm went off?

alarm went off when i unlocked car and got in...my chip had fell out of my pad.
