Question on JDM Motors

my friend says he is getting a H22 out of a 94 Prelude, that IS JDM. But he says it is not vtec and he paid 1050$$ for it. i know that there was a h22 that was not vtec, but i am not sure this guy knows what he is talking about. he says the motor is also the same as mine, BUT it has 170 hp.....is he goofed up or what?

It'll be an F22A, 2.2 DOHC non VTEC, it's around 160 hp.

isn't F22A a SOHC? I know the F22B is DOHC. i don't want to argue, but that's what i thought....

nope

f22b is just the lil brother of the h23

i think the only dif is the bore size... correct me if i'm wrong

and the f22b should be obtained for less tehn 900

i know hmotors was selling these at around 600 and a local shop was selling for 700

a lot of places online don't know prices.. they try to rip you off and then some..

i called a couple engine distributors from teh back of magazines and got prices ranging for 1500 all the way to 3k for the f22b and h23

i was like.. =O

uummm don't think so, cause i would have to find a place to stay and then i would have to make one hell of a drive from Va. maybe if it's in the fall. cause i'll be in NC and that might be a closer drive to AL then from Va.
