question on brake light wires

Hey guys I'm trying to get my spoiler LED brake light to work without running the wires inside to my 3rd brake light (a lot less hassle)

There's 3 wires for the brake light:
Orange - Pos. (I hooked up my pos. spoiler LED wire to this one)
Black/Red - Neg./ground (I Hooked up my neg. LED wire to this one)
Black - not sure, but should I try hooking my neg. or pos. to this one instead?)

The problem is it only works with the brake lights when the car is off. When the car is on for some reason it wont work. Anyone know what the problem/solution is?

Negative should be connected to the back wire... The other two will either be brake or tail.

Well I don't think it would make a difference with the ground/neg. wire would it? Because it worked fine when the car was off. So my question is which wire would I splice the pos. wire to?

How do you guys run the wires inside..through which part..

I ran my wires inside through the backseat part that opens up for now, but I blew my brake light fuse because the pos. and neg. wires touched together...

It will. If you connected the ground to say the tail light wire (whichever it is), it will work as long as you dont have the headlights on, but it wont work when you turn them on (because it is no longer ground, but Pos).

To make sure, just connect the ground to a bolt in the boot otherwise you'll have fun trying to get it to work.

Black is always ground. If it's another color, chances are it isnt and so you will have problems...

Okay, it worked fine. For those of you who plan to install an LED spoiler brake light in the future, running it inside the car to the 3rd brake light is not necessary. It's a lot easier to simply run the wire to your tail light. There's three wires for the brake light, orange, red/black, and a black wire. Splice the pos. LED spoiler light wire to the orange brake light wire, and the neg. LED spoiler light wire to the black wire. This makes it work just fine.
