i heard the TEIN's coilovers have the camber kit w/ it? Those would be the easiest to buy? just throw the TEIN SS's on.. and that would be it? i don't need like shocks/struts or anything?
The pillowball option on some applications gives the suspension camber adjustability. With the prelude though, there is no standard camber adjustment (on top of shock mount) available with the Tein systems. So you would still have to purchase a camber kit to adjust.
The Tein system is a complete shock and spring assembly, so you would not have to buy additional shocks.
I'm not in it for the "bling" factor... I can't disclose the price because it is a confidential TPC negotioated price.. but if you were to pick these up at retail they would be around $2200.00 US. Of course with a bit of searching you could probaly get them for about $1900.00 US..
In the SS version of the suspension I would say the only pro about getting the Tein pillows are easier swaps (you don't need to disassemble your stock suspension) and they look good.
It looks like they raise the piston rod up so you get more stroke when the car is lowered as well but I never really measured it to be certian.
Well unless you drop an insane amount a little extra negative camber in the rear actually helps the handling.. just make sure the "toe angle" is set correctly...
I was down to a 1.5 finger gap in the back and my camber was out only about .7 of a degree past the max factory spec.. It did not affect my tire wear significanlty because my toe specs were set well within spec..
However in the front you want to try to set you camber closer to 0 deg (on street tires) since it is rare that you will lift a tire in a corner (unlike the rear where you may lift an inside tire- That why the extra negative camber)
