Question about japanese exhaust

Would an exhaust made for the jdm prelude fit on the usdm version? I don't know if they use catalytic converters in japan or not. I'm asking because I've found a company that can import an exhaust for me... plus it would be badass to have an exhaust called St. May's Shot Gun.

I've also been looking at the 5zigen fireball, but when i call companies they tell me they only have it for the Si lude... that doesn't make a difference does it? Apex`i sells the same exhausts for every 4th gen model.

i am 99% sureit will fit. if a USDM down pipe will fit a JDM H22, im pretty sure a JDM exhaust would fit. im just going off common sense though. i figure that if one part of the exhaust can be mix-matched, so can another. make sense to u?

later,
tim

Yes they do, although they are smaller than the USDM and European models so they're not worth changing for a high-flow etc.

ST. May's exhaust like the mid-dual tip AZECT prelude? If you get that specific one, I've heard you might need a little modification from a muffler shop.

Did you finish nuke school yet?

This also means that to use a JDM exhaust you either need to get a JDM cat, or get a JDM cat bypass pipe, or modify the newexhaust to make it fit the USDM cat.

Good Luck! ... next time I'm in town, we should ride out and cruise.
Power School sucked... Prototype was a LOT more fun

Which exhaust model are you trying to get?

I'm looking at the 5zigen fireball, but i'd really like a tanabe racing medalion... but saving about $100 is good too.

Man, it sure is good to see some more military members in PO. I'm in the AF, so I can't say GO NAVY, but I will give you respect, nonetheless!

Go AF!

No it doesn't. The length of the cat part and the flanges could be the same on each side with the actualy catalytic converter being smaller still.

This is true - but I'm 99.9% sure this is not the case. See here

MAN, regardless, you can cut and weld pretty much anything to work between H22's & H23's.
