Question about a CEL code

The other day my CEL came on with code 8 TDC sensor. I cleared the code and was ok for about a day and it came back. I cleaned the connectors on the front of the distributer but it came back. Is there something else I should do? Could this be an indicator my timing belt is wearing out? Thanks in advance
