Q: about that rail from intake to valve cover

I am trying to find something like a butterfly clip to bypass that rail that goes from the intake to the valve cover.. does anyone know what I'm talking about? its the rail that connects to the intake pipe, I have mine blocked off with a plug, and I have a breather filter on my valve cover where the other end of that rail connects.. IS THIS THE RIGHT WAY to do this? any suggestions for taking that rail out? sorry i dont know the terminology. pls help. thx.

you are talking about the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve. at certain vacuum levels(around idle i believe) the pcv opens and lets the inake suck the oily residue and gasses caused by blow by and normal engine conditions, which you do not want in your crankcase. the side that you put that filter on is the side where the fresh air goes in. normally it takes the air from the intake because its filtered, but you have replaced that. if you block the other side going into the intake manifold, you will be disabling your pcv system from working, and you will have a build up of pressure and gasses in your crankcase. it will probably come OUT of that filter at some point making a leaky mess in your engine bay, and you wont gain any power. if you leave it the way you have it now, then it just looks nifty. good luck!

^^^ what would you recommed? what are the majority of luders doing?? Is this just a matter of personal preference? I've had it like this for at least 7 months and had no problems, and no leaks or mess. however, i don't want to be hurting my performance... before I put this filter thing on my valve cover I used to have a rubber tube that connected the two... The breather thing looks cool, but what is the best way to do this without hurting performance? thx
