Q about exhaust set up from h23 to h22

my friend has a 93 si. he has/is swapped in a jdm h22a. it comes w/ the header on the motor. now the cat and the pipe that runs from the header to the cat is what i have the question about...does he need an h22 cat for a cat back that he bought off an h22 car....also will that pipe that runs from the header to the cat work from a h23 or does he need an h22 one.

i know its confusing what i wrote i hope you can understand it ......might would help if i knew the names of the **** lol.

in other words...the pipe from the header to the cat and the cat itself. does he need one from an h22 or will his one from his h23 work....he also has a cat-back off an h22 if that matters at all.....maybe thats a lil better

I believe the downpipe is the same...

You have a header on the H22 without the downpipe, so use your H23 downpipe and cat, and have a muffler shop weld a new flange on the cat to match up with the H22 exhaust. The only difference in the SI/VTEC exhaust top to bottom is the header ports and the flanges on the CAT...I hope this helps, I kind of confused myself.
