Okay guys, I decided to go ahead and buy the JDM H22 Long Block from www.hmotorsonline.com. I figure an engine with only 25,000 miles and for only $1500 shipped, you can't go wrong there. Since I already have the USDM H22, I don't think it will be that hard of a swap really. Is there anything that I should need to know about this purchase? Anyone had previous experience with hmotors?
i've posted this before a while ago with no reply, but does anyone here know how long JDM h22a's last? granted USDM h22a's should go for 175K+ miles will JDM's reach that limit?
i don't think i've heard of anyone who's been able to put that many miles on their JDM yet but probably because they haven't had them swapped in their cars long enough...
i am just finishing up my swap. i swapped in a 93-95 jdm h22a into my USDM h22a1. i just have to go out and fill the fluids and i'm ready to roll! i hope it starts on the first time!
if u have any questions, feel free to PM me! i'm don't know a lot about cars, but i know some so i'll try to answer ur questions.
It should be a direct swap- just a few differences- there is a FAQ that red92s did and that should help you very well.
I heard that the Helms is a must also!
From the threads here I've heard good things about Hmotors
Reason for the compression check is over in Japan (like most of Europe) because of the Laws on how long a car can be Passed for inspection and such people HAVE To buy new cars every 5 years sometime less so during that time its not uncommon to drive the hell out of the car. the compression check will verify if the cars internals are sealing correctly
guess......or buy a whole front clip like me, thats the only way to truely verify

Get the front clip if you can find a decent deal on one. you will get the headlights and possibly some fogs. plus you will have other JDM goodies to auction off or keep for yourself
