Problems with VTEC..... need help

VTEC HAS GONE CRAZY!!!

My car has been running really funny lately..... The timing when my car goes into vtec is alllllll wrong.... When I give it gas.... it doesnt go into vtec @ 5,000 rpm,s, itstead it goes into vtec mode at about 6,000-7,000 rpm's. Sometimes vtec shuts off early to.. instead of the usual 7,500 - 8,000 rpm's it shuts off @ around 7,000, but only sometimes. Im thinking it may be the vtec pressure switch?!?!? There is also a filter for vtec solinoid that may be clogged?!?!?! Other than vtec my car is running perfectly... only when i go into vtec things get screwy.... I dont think its anything mechanically wrong with my engine because it only has the engine miss in vtec. please write back if you have any information about this.

Thanks,
Ken

p.s. this has also made my piece aaallllllooooot slower heh.

Check your oil!! Could be related to oil pressure...or the oil pressure sensor...

I think the vtec pressure switch is some kind of oil pressure sensor.... somewhere I heard that oil pressure is one of the things that drives vtec?!? anyways I went ahead and ordered a new filter for my vtec solinoid, it was only a few dollars, couldnt hurt, and I did change my oil thanks for the ideas
