Problems restarting the engine

HI guys,

I have a ´92 4th gen Si Lude, and 2 days ago i have this happen to my car for the first time. I drive around for some time, then i was waiting for a friend for around 15 minutes with the engine idling, then i decided to turn the engine off, When i try to restart it, as soon as the engine starts it just turn off right away, then i tryed a few times and it didnt start, i had to press the accelerator for it to start. then it was working just normal.

Then i tryed this a few more times, ideling, shut the engine off, and when i restat it, sometimes is will do the same, need to press the accelerator...

what can be wrong? also i think my car is consuming a lot of gaz....

any hints?
thanks

If I'm not mistaken, I think the PGM main relay is the cause for problems with warm start-ups. The soldering in the relay is known to crack causing a bad connection. You can either replace the relay or resolder the connections and that should take car of the problem. The relay is located to the left side of your steering wheel in the dash. You have to access it by going from under the dash.

I on the other hand have a problem with cold start-ups.

I dunno, I had the same problem when the car was ina garage for 3 days untouched. After that it never happened again, I'll take a look at the relay just in case.
