Problem with the dimmer on the electro-lumin. gauge

At nite, these gauges are too bright for me, so when I have my headlight on, I would dim it down the first and only click and it just dims down. But now, when I try to dim it, it just doesn't dim down. Like in the day time when you don't have your headlights on and you dim it down, there isn't much of a difference. Does anyone know what could be wrong? I haven't really taken my dash apart yet, I don't know how everything's connected under there. Thanks.

Check to see if your rear lights (not the brake lights) are out. This sounds weird but the rear running lights and the dimmer control are both in the "Small Light" fuse under your hood. Check and see if it is blown.

I was driving one time (at band camp) and hit a HUGE pothole...suddenly my whole dash light up like daytime...about 45 minutes later at the rest stop somebody told me my rear lights were out...took me about an hour in the dark to locate the "SMALL LIGHT" fuse and fix it. Once I did that...the dimmers worked again.

Sure buddy. Just come pick it up when ever you want .

Satan_SRV, thanks for the suggestion. At first, I thought it might be a fuse too, but I don't remember ever seeing a dimmer fuse anywhere. Anyway, it's a intermittent problem. It's completely normal again now, which makes be believe it's not the fuse, and yes, my tail lights work fine. I just think it's a loose connection or something.

Ahh you did a gauge swap...well for future reference...the light dimmer control is linked to your rear night time lights, in case you have another problem...the fuse is called "SMALL LIGHT" pull it out and test my theory if you like
