Problem: Code 15(Ignition Output Signal)

Ok, a buddy of mine has a '93 Prelude Si that has a JDM H22A swap. He has a code 15. And everytime he turn the car on, it would start and run for only a good 5 sec til the code pops up and shuts off. When he first got his new distributor off Ebay, it ran for a week then back to where it would run for only 5 sec and dies again.

So far, we tried:
-New Distributor(also tried this new dizzy in my H22 CD5 Accord and throws a CEL which I expect it to be code 15.)
-My ECU
-Make sure there's no loose connectors at the distributor or ECU.

Anybody fix this problem before? I read a bunch of threads about code 15 where ppl says it's the igniter, but there is no real fix to this whatsoever. It's always a dead end.

What I plan on doing next is OHM test each wire at the distributor back to the ECU connectors to see if there's continuity or OL. And make sure there's power to those wires that should have them.

Going by the helms, you have either:

1) an open or short wire somewhere
2) a bad coil
3) a bad igniter
4) a bad ecu

So going by what you said you've already done, I'd check the coil.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check the coil.
