problem about my block

Okay have a 92 prelude it is in the shop getting a complete engine overhaul now here is the problem:

I don't know a lot about engine just the basic's they show me my engine they claim the pistions are chip or knick on the bottom and i need new ones anyways on to the block they say I need a new one of course due to something with the cylinder walls

What are my options I need a new block and pistions can i get it rehoned, rebore, resleeved or take my chance with another block I need to know what I can do I want the cheapest way out but also want more power help me let me know what things cost I am a newbie on this one

Thanks
John
