Prelude starts then DIES when HOT!!! HELP! X(

1992
f22b sohc
5 spd.

At times when the car is warm (not overheating, just been run for a while) the car would have trouble starting. (for example, One day i drove to refill gas...my car is now warm because of the distance to the gas station...n i get to the gas station n shut the car off..i refill and i try to start the car up and it does at first but dies quickly thereafter! I try again and it doesnt even turn on!). I noticed this only happens to me when it is very hot outside(~85-100 degrees...idk if that has anything to do with this but...).
At times I notice that I have to wait a few minutes n try again....n 'walah', it turns on!

The car:
-does not overheat, there is no antifreeze in oil, n no oil in radiator.
-has oil leak, do not know where but i keep the oil level 'level'
-spark plugs show its running rich. burning oil.
-has NEW spark plugs, wires, ignition coil, dizzy and cap n rotor, alternator
-has FAILED smog!

MY QUESTION IS WHERE DO I START TO LOOK FOR THE CAUSE???
DOES ANY1 KNOW OF ANYTHING WITH THIS SITUATION??

Thank you for reading and please ask any questions and give answers.

Main relay. Search for the fix.

I have a spare main relay at home. I will switch these out n see!
This situation happens to me randomly too so i never know when its gonna happen!

How well do you know if its the main relay? If the main relay is bad doesnt that mean that the car wouldnt start AT ALL?...everyday the car starts up fine.

That is the classic symptom of a bad main relay. Yes they car won't turn on at all if the main relay is completely shot but most of the time on the prelude the solder joints on the main relay crack which cause the problem.

ok thx spin r g!
I have read the "main relay" sticky thread about a yr ago and other threads many times before n i will either resolder this main relay or replace it with the other one. I am convinced it is the main relay too. I will try it as soon as I get back home and get back with results.

-One reason why i am convinced is that this situation of mine only happens when the weather outside is very hot and/or my car is very warm too. I have read that the main relay connections expand when it is hot. Therefore, the terminals/connections do not connect signals with eachother.
