prelude si/sr question

The carfax report for my car shows it as a 93 honda prelude si/sr. I am under the impression that sr is the designation for si preludes in canada. My car has been in florida and alabama since it rolled its first mile according to carfax. I've heard that SRs have thicker crankshafts than the SI. Anyway, for my question... Is there any difference in an SR prelude and an SI prelude or is it the same car and engine under a canadian name? (I'm trying to figure out why i stomp the hell out of my friends 92 Si4ws prelude even though he has the same mods... I/H/E)
