Prelude Si or SE?

I own a used '96 Prelude. And running the VIN, it comes back as an USDM Si. So its non-VTEC. But get this. My car is a color called Eucalyptus. Which is a (sexy) dark bluish-green. Then, there's the leather interior, from the front and rear seats, to the leather inserts on the doors. And finally, theres the honda car phone which has even honda stumped.

What am I driving???

i believe leather interior only came for the se and vtec ludes... so i'm pretty sure its the se. look at the rims too. 94-96 vtec's and si's have the same rims while the se is different.

Sis also have optional leather, my friend has in his Si. I know Se's had a special color green exterior. Rims style could tell you. Running VIN should tell you the model. Post some pictures and Im sure we can figre it out. I also think SE saysSpecial Edition under the 'prelude'

You have an SE. Carfax only list it as an SI. If you look at the VIN it's BB2, which is the SI. I've checked out serveral SE's when I was looking to buy a Prelude. There's nothing all that special about the SE, Honda was just trying to boost up sales by adding "new colors", "leather", "gold badging", oouuuu pretty

I don't believe that the vtec rims and the si rims are the same, I have an si and I have been told and read that I have vtec rims.....

You have been lied to. They're exactly the same. Hey, look here's a picture of my VTEC/Si rims.

Those were the stock rims on 92-93 Prelude Sis and VTECs. In 94 they changed to 9 spoke directional rims.

92-93 SI + 93 VTEC have the same rims (as Ryan pointed out). 94 -96 SI and VTEC have the 9 spoke directional rims (as in my sig). 92-96 S model came with hub caps.
And while on the subject of SE's and rims, the SE's came with a special 5 spoke directional rims.

I have a 92 si and it came with the same rims in the pic above. All 92-93 si and vtec ludes came with these rims (except for the 92 vtec of course...because it doesn't exist.

My car doesn't have gold badging like many Special Edition Accords do these days. And there are no markings on the vehicle to distinguish it from any other Si. I checked the VIN, and its does have the "BB2" prefix like you said however.

I searched through Honda Prelude.com for 4th gen SE's, and found that many owners re-badged they're vehicles, adding the rectangular "Special Edition" tab underneath the Prelude badge. Its the OEM one used on Accords.

Thanks for the interest, I'll be posting pictures shortly.

Are you saying they started in 95 onto 96 or ONLY 95, and none in 96? I've personally seen a couple 96 SE's

Sorry, I am just annoyed by the false info that people keep spreading, such as the SI/VTEC rims...

No, I believe I've just confirmed that mine is a '96 SE. And I've found a handful on Honda Prelude.com
