Prelude S ECU in a Si

So, me and my friend swapped ECU's cause he wanted to see how his F22B would run (JDM DOHC non-VTEC) with the P14. I had the other S ECU in my car.....i dont like it! He had fun with mine, being that he had LONG gears and no speed limiter and a higher rev limiter.....

Whats the main difference in the two ECU's?

my friend had fun with his longer gears and no speed limiter - his 5th is like the Si's 4th gear - i wish we had a longer gear....

I just found out my friend has an H22a w/ H23 tranny with an S 5th gear. I wanna drive it on the highway and see how much of a difference that 5th gear is.

just to give an idea.....the S 4th gear is equivalent to the Si 5th gear.....is it hard to swap the gears? you could make a mean tranny that way - 1st 2nd 3rd outta a VTEC, 4th outta a Si, and 5th outta the S, but going from 4th to 5th would be a major drop in RPMS....

An s ecu will have much more conservative fuel maps and ignition tables. I am going to guess the have the same injector size or you would have had problems

i had no problems but did notice a lack of power when the secondary runners opened up. it seemed a little more torquey low end though - i guess because the S is a SOHC made for daily driving?

thats the point. even if you track your car you dont really use 5th. its a gear for cruising so its no loss making it a lot taller than 4th gear.
