***Prelude randomly takes time to start!***

-92 Honda Prelude S
-F22
-5 spd

-At most times when I start my car, cold or hot, it takes nearly 2 seconds to start!
-At other times I noticed when the car is on and warmed up and its hot outside, I would shut the car off, and then quickly try to turn it back on (if it does turn on) or if it does turn on it will quickly die. This doesnt happen to me often but i know its not normal.

-There is an oil leak but I maintain the oil level.
-The car does not overheat.
-The battery light sometimes slowly fades in and out when rev'ing high in each gear.

The car has:
-NEW spark plugs and wires
-NEW distributor, cap and rotor
-NEW coil
-Great charge on battery

I may have left something out so PLEASE ask questions?

-WHAT CAN I CHECK, WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE CAUSES OF THIS?

That leads me to believe your alternator belt might be slipping.

Turn the key to "ON" and leave it there for a few seconds, then try to start the car. That will allow the fuel system to prime before you crank it, that might help.

OK, I agree, it could be the alternator belt slipping. The alternator is also brand new but the belt is old! I will change that.

It cant be the injectors because I have used injector cleaners a few times in the past yr. Although i dont believe its the starter.

Another thing I left out is that at times when it would die after I start the car, I would wait a few minutes then restart the car and it starts up just fine...its kinda odd!
