Prelude Finally Painted

Finally got most of the body painted. Sealed it all last night and painted this morning. Still have to add the black touches. The hood's extruded part will be painted black along with the mirrors and the spoiler. Hopefully just enough accents. But I'm real happy with the result for our first time painting. There was some cracks in the paint or something I dont know but it doesnt look right on the bottom of the back bumper. So we gotta wetsand that smoothe yet and hit it again. Any painters on the forum? Would like to know what caused that I can put up some close up pics if someone needs to see. Anywayz hope you guys approve of the color. Didnt go with the gunmetals like everyone was suggesting. Something a little different. Called Sunset Pearl.

Heres my old man sealing it up.

Now time for me to start painting after letting it sit over night.

Here's the door which I think turned out fantastic.

Dad came in let me have a break for a bit

And thats about it for now. Still got the clear coats to do so Ima get back to working. Pictures really dont do it justice.

Just curious, did you have some kind of setup to suck out dust from settling on the paint? Looks good though.

Actually this time we forgot entirely about that, we had been opening the garage a little and just have two big fans blowing out with the ac running and it worked before. But this time we didnt and it was all dusty afterwards so we just tacked the whole car down.

well since the fender is molded on and the front bumper its pretty much stuck there unless I wanna cut the fender off.

This is going to be an auto cross car. I already got the adjustable koni yellows put on there with an upgraded brake system. So now I'm just lookin for a good strut bar and some sway bars.

Looking good man. Props for doing it all yourself, great feeling isn't it. So how long has this project taken from start to now? Mine took 2 years but I procrastinate badly.

edit: You shouldn't duplicate your threads like that. I knew I posted in your thread last night and then I saw this one and thought it didn't go through. So i posted again in this one then found your other one a few minutes later.

yeah man, I hope you never need to replace the headlights... Nice color though. I noticed that it looks like you filled in that strip on the roof by the edge where the door shuts.. i hope that makes sense.. I wouldn't want my car that color, but it looks good

Thanks for all the support and comments. Yep everything is shaved. The door handles, those runs on top of our roofs, took out that plastic in the trunk and filled it with sheet metal and bondo. Shaved the antena and molded everything.
Also did the five lug conversion from a 2000 lude. Got new koni yellow struts with H&R Racing springs. And just ordered the neuspeed upper tie bar. Getting closer and closer, I was hopin I was gonna be done before NPM but i'll catch it next year for sure.
More Pics coming soon.

2 questions:

1: What did you do about the interior of the trunk and the engine bay colors?

2: What is the paint code for that sunset pearl?
