Pre Paint Prep:Give me LOTS of Advice for handing over the keys.

She's going in tomorrow. 92 4ws. Right now its red, soon to be Daytona Blue.

The shop is doing all repairs/sanding/body prep work, painting, hood / trunk / door jams.

I'm wondering what all I should do myself before handing over the keys, so far tonight I'm:

Buy a new (oem) H3 fog light because the driver side is burnt out and I can't replace it unless I take off the front bumper due to Rust.

Do I need to remove anything in the trunk so they can remove the rear bumper ? The Helms shows 4 bolts that need to be removed from inside the trunk, can the rear bumper be removed w/o doing this ?

Take out some of the trunk lining around the sides.

Create 9005/9006 to H1/H4 wiring plugs so my JDM 1 piece are plug and play into my existing wiring. (I'll have them put the 1piece's on)

Bookmark Sunroof, Bumper, headlight sections in my Helms manual and leave it in the pass. seat for them in case they need the reference.

I have 0 experience about this .. anything else I should do to cover my ass of their mistakes if any? (they're a good quality shop but I'd rather be safe than sorry.. this is my baby

Leaving the helms with them isnt such a bad idea really... That way they wont F*CK anything up! Yes, those 4 screws will need to be removed, but leave that to them (i actually belive theres a few under the tailights also) As far as everything else goes, just relax and let them do the work. The only advice i have, is to check up on their progress often. Make sure they're doing what YOU want done, and that they're not half assing it (i've had it happen to me )

good advice considering the paint job is costing you a lot (I'd imagine?), and you might as well be a bit of a pain in the a$$ now and get everything done how you like it instead of being polite and having to live with things about your car you're not fond of. What about the engine bay, do they just paint the edge on the inside that falls just under the hood?

Yea there doing hood / door / trunk jams ... so you wont be able to see red when its closed, the engine bay will wait until I get a swap maybe next year / the year after ...

i'm paying roughly 2100 for everything said and done ..I can't wait! I'm keeping the OEM skirt and having them paint it also because my city is too chiddy to have a nice sleek lowered kit ..

I'd rather be oem and not cracked/damaged..

Ill see if they can mask/paint the part with the radiator brackets too ..

yea, that is pretty cheap. its usually around $4000 and plus you got them putting in your headlights and fixing rust which involves welding. it cost me near $2000 to just do a body kit, rear bumper, rear fenders rust, and few small things. do u have a hook up or something?
