power steering problems - Honda Prelude Forum

Hey what's up guys,

So today I installed some new belts on my 95 prelude because I'm going up north to visit my brother, and something went terribly wrong. As I was done with the installation of the belts I went to turn the car on, as I turned the car on my power steering unit reservoir started to erupt power steering fluid every were as if it had air inside of it. I tried steering the steering wheel some 50 times and nothing stills the same result, I even went as far as driving the car around and still nothing.

So finally I got upset and just took the damn belt of so now I'm driving with no power steering.

Has anyone ever had this problem? If so how did you fix it?

Do you guys think a can drive the car without any power steering on my trip to Sacramento?

Any help will be much appreciated thanks.

sounds like air is entering the power steering system. Did you remove any lines from the power steering pump? see any fluid dripping down to the ground

and did you steer the steering wheel all the way to the left, than all the way to the right (lock-to-lock)?
