Power steering cooler leaking... just bypass?

The power steering cooler is leaking bad on my 92... can I just cut it out and loop a hose to bypass it?

Probably. Although they seem to be pretty easy to find. I saw a few on Ebay for like 8 bucks. If I may ask, what happened to it to make it leak? Kinda weird lol.

I think it just rotted out. I know I can get universal ones but really don't understand why I need a steering cooler anyways??

What about one of these? Do I need to worry about size or will I simply need to add more fluid to the system?

Well I personally would want something that was meant to FIT and BOLT UP in the stock location. The racks in these cars are somewhat fragile, I wouldn't ditch the cooler, it's there for a reason.

I'm already on my second rack and pinion from previous owner using cheap fluid.

Well I just bypassed it for now till I get my cooler in. I don't mind running new lines and stuff (get rid of all those old metal lines that are probably rotten) to run a new aftermarket cooler.

Aftermarket coolers are fine. Except those flashy ones you can find on ebay... I wouldn't use one of those.
