power antennas

i need a new one and i dont wanna pick one up from the dealership (too pricey). what antennas from other honda models will work just fine for my lude? i already looked up a few local wreckers and they dont have any 92-96 preludes in stock. just wondering if theres any other alternatives.

make sure you keep all the old parts. I bought a generic honda antenna off ebay and the drive belt was too long (should be able to cut it) and the rubber housing didn't fit the curve of the fender properly. You may be able to mix and match the pieces together - my old ones were broken off. So then I sucked it up and went and got f*cked by the dealer.

I got a short (8") antenna from O'Reillys for $5.99. Its black, fixed (doesn't retract) and IMO ooks a lot better then stock, not to mention saving a few lbs.

I installed one these, goes in pretty easy you just bend the metal strap 90 degrees and splice the wires. Gotta pull out the trunk liner and unscrew the old antenna from the top.

I unplugged my antenna in the trunk and took it out. I still have the base on the outside but I have plans to shave it when I paint my wing. I placed an antenna in my center console for some reception, but I don't ever listen to the radio. Seems to work fine.
