Poll: Best size rims for 4th gens...

one of the reasons im putting a poll up is because i met some dude thats selling some Velox VX8 Limited Edition.

The thing is, they only come in 16's since they are LE and only gunmetal. The "gunmetal" part, i like.. The "16" part, i dont know.

I like the price for all 4 rims with decent 40-45 series tires. I dont want to pass the deal up, but i also dont want my car looking wierd with small rims..

So how good would they look on 4th gens?

and.. with the size rims u choose, what size tires are good?

peace
james

Do you have any pics of the rims? I think it depends on what kind of rim you have rather than the car. Some wheels would look better in different sizes, I think.

18's look the best but they are not worth it in the end IMO. Unless all you care about is what other people think. With 18's your most likely going to have to get a 215/35 (depending on the offset) to fight rubbing. With a 35 you're going to be on pins and needles praying that you don't meet a pot hole on the street. With 215 your butt cheeks will clench when you get near curbs. As for costs, yes 18's are expensive, but have you thought about tires? I spent 650 on new tires. And that was a pretty good deal on halfway decent tires. On top of that 18's are too much attention to your car (thieves).

If I could do it all over again, I would definetly get some nice lightweight 16s just for practicality.

Rims are for looks so why not go with the ones that look the best. I just want to get some rims for the track as well.

go with 16's they are cheaper, lighter( in most cases ), and they can still look good. with 16's there are a lot less worries and a better drag car for these stop light cases. This is the route I will probley go.

i like 17". has the looks with lower profile tires but still small enough to have less weight and better grip on take offs. tires are way to expensive for 18". but the 18" does look better imo.

Our cars are to big for small wheels I have 18" on my lude and anything less would look *** as hell. Of course I run drags in the front and stocks in the rear during races though.

We need to go in half and half on a set of Rota Slipstreams.

17's are the best comprimise, but 16's are lighter & with a smaller rolling diametre you get slightly better performance.

I say 18's look the best but 17's are just right if not to big not to small'also just beacause you go with a 16 's it doesnt mean there all way's lighter ive seen some 15's and 16's just as heavy as 17's
you must fator in the wight of the tire too.

17" is the right size, my preference is i won't go more than 2" bigger than the stock

Yeah, I'm going to get 17's. They help the wheel gap nicely, they nice, and you're not sacrificing too much performance over stock.
