Hello everyone,

I am a new owner of a 96 prelude si manual. Car is great except that I have this irritating sound from the engine at around 3k to 4k rpm only. No power lose, no engine codes. Sounds metallic ( could be a knock or pinging). Does not matter if engine is loaded or transmission is in neutral. Any advice to fix the issue is greatly appreciated. Great site by the way.

Is the sound a rattle? I always check all of my heat shields on my exhaust and do a "heat shield adjustment"...aka rip them off if they are loose. Just make certain you are safe and use jack stands or a lift before climbing under there!! Alot of times the catalytic converter shield rattles. Good luck!
