please help... something leaking into oil!

hey my oil light kept comming on last week... so i check my oil and it was about an inch above the dot.. i had just gotten a oil change the weekbefore... so i get a new oilchange the next day..and it seems my oil is rising a bit and smells alittle like gas? i dunno is the oil like even supposed to come on if its full? or is my sensor bad? or pump? will a compression/leakdown test help me? thanx

Wow, smells like gas?
That sounds like a pretty bad leak.. The only thing I could imagine getting into your oil would be antifreeze due to a cracked block.

If it smells like gas could he have fried his piston rings and they are now letting the fuel get behind the pistons and into the oil circulation?
