I'm new to this forum for the simple reason of asking experts what is wrong with my car. I have a '92 4WSi I bought off some kid in a hurry. He didn't tell me it was flood damaged when I bought it, so of course I've have some issues. Simpliy put, I paid $2900 for the car, and a month later paid $3400 for an engin and all corrisponding parts

..... that's not my issue though.
I recently replaced my heater blower motor and master cylinder after not having breaks or heat for over six months. My car was FINALLY running great, and I started to enjoy my car after 2 years of wanting someone to steal it.
I was low on gas one night when I drove into work. No big deal. After work I went to get into my car and it would not start. I figured it only needed gas, so I left it for the night and came back the next day. I carried over 5 gallons of gas, got in, and tried to start it. NOPE. I got starting fluid... didn't budge. I tried everything I could and still it laid there like a dead hooker not responding to anything.
I towed my car home and let my roommate look at it. We changed out the fule filter, wires, and plugs and it still did the same thing. My roommate took off the distributor cap and cleaned the contacts. Finally it would fire, but would not run. So I changed out the cap and the rotor. Now, it starts but it won't run. Kinda coughs... then dies.
I've read the other threads and I can't find anything. I keep hearing so many different things like it could be the distributor, the coil, the fuel pressure sensor... however I don't want to replace everything under the hood if there is someone with actual knowledge of this car that can help.
Any ideas?!?
