Please help: How do I take off the front steering knuckle of a 4th gen???

I have already removed all of the following:

1) Caliper with mounting bracket
2) Rotor
3) All 3 ball joints
4) 36mm Axle nut

I than tried to remove the knuckle from the axle but it won't budge.
Everything else comes free except the axle halfshaft.

What do I still need to do to remove just the knuckle from the car because I'm trying to bolt on the 5 lug knuckle assembly?

Thank you very much!!!
Derek

Banging it with a rubber mallet won't damage the axle will it???

I'm just trying to take it off properly without damaging anything.

Do I really need a hydraulic press to take the front knuckle assembly off???

Please let me know.

Thanks!

If the problem is that the axle won't come out, you do not need a press. It is not held in with any force or friction, but age and rust will freeze it in place. Use a rubber mallet to pound it out, or put on an old axle nut and use a mini sledge. You will not damage the axle if you can keep from damaging the threads.

Moving to 4g...
