1) what is the diameter of the stock 4g piping to the exhaust?

2) what is the diameter of the piping of the Greddy PE exhaust?

3) Why do some people tilt there exhausts to the side? is that purely for cosmetics?

4) are aftermarket cats legal in california?

1. I'm not that sure, but it's probably around 2.25-2.5inches
2. The GReddy PE is about 2.5in. until the end near the muffler is gets a little bigger
3. No idea
4. You can buy them, and you can pass the visual smog inspection because you have a CC, but some high-flow cats will, and some won't, let you pass the sniffer test. I guess it all depends on what kind you get.

Edit: the piping goes by MM, so you have to convert that into inches. I forgot the actual mm. Sorry

exhaust to the side

i *think* the reason they are at an angle as opposed to being straight is because they wouldnt fit, or they didnt wanna cut the piping, if they went straight out it would stick out the back like a sore thumb.... *i think* my .02

The angle is for looks. As far as the piping I think the stock piping is 2".

actually the angle of the exhaust has to do with better performance giving a straighter pass through... This isn't true for the prelude but for integras and civics... it goes straight down the cat and just does a nice 45 degree angel straight out... instead of having to do two 90 degrees bend to let the muffler stick straight back...

i hope that makes sense...

my ex has a tilted exhaust on his crx but he did it just for the fact that he couldn't put it on straight back....I think that the stock piping is smaller than 2.25 mm just for the fact of the amount of back pressure that you want too big you loose power and too small you don't get enough either, 2.25 is the ideal wouldn't go beyond 3.00 though....
