If you have the Helms then just do it yourself. You'll save a lot of $$$. The hardest part of the install would be raising that 100-lb tranny. Just to warn you though...little things add up like special tools (torque wrench), clutch, flywheel, etc. When I started on this project I thought all the parts would just cost me $700 at most. Right now I spent about $600 and I still need a flywheel and axle to complete the swap. Right now I'm still waiting for that clutchmasters flywheel groupbuy thing. I would say $1200 for parts alone...that is if you want to go aftermarket. Of course it'll be cheaper if you go all used OEM. Here's the list of parts you'll need:
1. Brake pedal for manual tranny
2. Clutch pedal assy(comes with starter interlock switch)
3. Clutch master cyl assy
4. Line from clutch master cyl to Dampener
5. Dampener assy with mounting bracket (fender side)
6. Line from dampener to clutch slave cyl hose (rubber line)
7. Clutch hose (connects line from dampener to clutch joint on tranny)
8. Clutch joint (junk yards may leave it on the tranny)
9. Line from joint to clutch slave cyl (junk yards may leave it on the tranny)
10. Clutch slave cyl (junk yards may leave it on the tranny)
11. Manual tranny assy (of course...hehe)
12. Speedo sensor (junk yards may leave it on the tranny)
13. Clutch assy (press. plate, disk, & throw-out bearing)
14. Flywheel
15. Manual ECU (you can use AT ecu but it will throw out error codes)
16. Shifter assy (which includes lever & base plate)
17. Shift cable, holding clips, clevis pins, cotter pins
18. Starter for manual tranny
19. Tranny mount & bracket
20. Shift boot and knob
21. 30-amp relay (for starter interlock)
22. Driver's side CV shaft and intermediate shaft
Important bolts that you need:
Flywheel bolts (8)
Pressure plate bolts (6)
Intermediate shaft hanger bolts (3)
Starter bolts that goes through the starter and tranny (the two longest ones) (2)
I think that covers everything. The list may look complex but it's not...really. If you ask me is it worth it? IMHO I think it is. It's a fun project to do.
edit: my suggestion to you is to print out this list and start looking for parts. Once you have it, mark it off on the list. Or if you want to go one time I believe some junk yards sells the whole thing. Call around and ask for "Manual transmission changeover." Hope this helps.
