your tranny will bolt to the motor, along with your clutch/flywheel. i actually kept my h23 tranny as well. i plan on swapping final drives, so the slightly taller gears will be negated. you will have to run 2 wires to the ecu, and yes you will need a new ecu. the wires are easy to run, all you need are the pins to pin your stock harness. one pin is large, the other small. i used a large pin from a sensor on the JDM harness that came with the motor and removed the small pin from the stock harness where it plugs into the ecu(it was for a/c and mine was removed).
