I'm just wondering why everyone around here is so crazy over what the redline of their gauges says? If you really know how to drive you don't need to have the "exact" rpm limit posted on your tachometer to be able to drive your vehicle with maximum performance.
I think all you really need, is to know where the peak power band is in your vehicles drivetrain. Once you understand that lets say (3,000-6,400) rpm is where you make the peak horsepower and torque, then regardless of what your gauges say your power will fall flat on it's face after 6,400 and you'd just be revving it out to 7,000+ decreasing the life of the engine internals for no reason.
I know it's a "cool" thing to see to have a really high redline, but is there any reason other then looks? I mean do you guys actually redline your engines? If so, Wow... !!
Thats all, I don't mean to be a party pooper, I just need someone to explain to me why everyone wants to see a super high redline on their honda engines? (even if peak power doesnt reach all the way out there)
