pics of subwoofer console in car!!

Finally got around to installing the console in my car today! Looks almost just like I pictured in my head. I hooked the unit up to my Xtant 121m, which pushes 125 watts RMS (about 45 more than the 6W0 is rated for), and turned my gains down. Here are my initial impressions: for a 6.5" speaker, this little guy can make some noise! It cant play really low notes, so heavy rap tracks arn't as exciting as they could be. However, drum kicks and quick, tight, bass is where this thing excells! I listened to a few kick-drum heavy songs (Lie in Our Graves by Dave matthews, some Metallica, etc) and was quite impressed. It cant keep up with my IDQ10, but hey. . .I dont loose any trunk space either. I still need to fiddle with the crossover point, as I think it is trying to play notes outside of it's range. Enjoy:

It mounts just like the stock piece. I think I'm gonna but some small nuts/bolts through the sides into the lower console part, just to keep someone from walking off with it without removing the rear seats first. The grill is a BIATCH to snap on there, but once it's one. . .it stays put. I CAN pop it off though, if I wanna be all showey. .

Hey red92s...I didn't know you were a member of Glassman Forums in Yahoo! I just saw your photos and it looked familiar and sure enough it was you! How's that trunk enclosure doing for you.

Alright nuff beating around the bush. I need a new sunroof and I was wondering, if it's easier/cheaper to do a mold on the old sunroof and 'glass it or to buy a junkyard dog. I don't really know the condition of the ones from the junkyard. Hit me up on Yahoo Forums if you could help me out. My name is the same as in here.

Thanks,

Harold

Very nice job!

I don't think my console is that wide in the rear, between the seats. Did the interior change from '92 to '93?

I use that yahoo group mainly just to get ideas for installs. . .I dont think I've ever posted or responded to a message. I think it would be MUCH easier just to buy a new sunroof panel (I have one actually, if you are interested).

Couldn't have. . .my car is a 92, and the console I modified was from a 93+ car. I'm sure it's from a 93+ because it's from a VTEC model, which started production in 93.

Looks very good.

Are you going to produce this? If so, for about how much?

Here are some more pics, with the grill off. . .looks pretty cool with that JL Audio logo showing. Too bad I'm afraid someone might decide to snatch it if I leave it uncovered! The second pic is a side view, looking at it like a rear seat passanger would.

Me want your sunroof! You live near GATech? If so I might consider coming over there and pick it up. I just need the panel and maybe the seal. Check your e-mail tonite around 6 or 7 for an offer. Thanks man.
